Yield:3/4 Cup

- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
- 1 small clove garlic, minced, optional
- ⅛ teaspoon salt, or to taste
- ⅛ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
- ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
- 59.15ml balsamic vinegar
- 4.26g Dijon mustard
- 4.26g honey or maple syrup
- 1 small clove garlic, minced, optional
- 0.53g salt, or to taste
- 0.53g freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
- 118.29ml extra virgin olive oil
This classic vinaigrette is perfect for everyday or any special occasion.
In a mixing bowl or jar, add the balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, honey or maple syrup, minced garlic (if using), salt, and pepper.
If using a bowl, whisk the ingredients together until they are mostly combined. If using a jar, secure the lid tightly and shake well to combine.
Gradually drizzle in the olive oil while continuously whisking (or shaking the jar). Continue until the dressing is emulsified and slightly thickened.
Taste the dressing and adjust the seasoning as needed. You may want to add more salt, pepper, honey for sweetness, or a splash more balsamic for tanginess. For best flavor cover and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes before serving.
Try with adding:
1-2 teaspoons of chopped fresh herbs such as basil, thyme or oregano
1 small shallot, minced
Lemon or orange zest
