Scampi is an Italian word for small lobster-like crustaceans. Here in the United States cooks have swapped the scampi for shrimp but kept the name to describe a dish filled with butter garlic and wine deliciousness! Serve with crusty bread or pasta to not waste a drop!
Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 pound medium or large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ cup dry white wine
  • 12 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh Italian parsley
  • 25.56g extra-virgin olive oil
  • 453.59g medium or large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 118.29ml dry white wine
  • 12 garlic cloves, minced
  • 38.34g butter
  • 25.56g chopped fresh Italian parsley

Preparation
STEP 1

Heat oil in a large skillet over high heat.

STEP 2

Add shrimp, salt and pepper. Sauté for 2-3 minutes, until shrimp turns pink and is cooked through.

STEP 3

Reduce heat to low and add wine, garlic, butter and parsley. Simmer for 1 minute.

STEP 4

Serve with crusty bread for dipping in sauce or tossed with pasta.
