Ingredients
- ½ cup butter, softened to room temp
- ¼ cup sugar
- ¼ teaspoon almond extract (or more to taste)
- Food coloring
- 1 ¼ cups flour
- 118.29ml butter, softened to room temp
- 59.15ml sugar
- 1.07g almond extract (or more to taste)
- Food coloring
- 295.74ml flour
Our copywriter Julie Curtis is carrying on her Auntie Ilene’s tradition of making these adorable holiday cookies every year. Shaping them is fun for the whole family! They are the cutest to look at and equally delicious to eat! Perfect addition to any cookie plate or gift basket.
Preparation
STEP 1
With either a hand mixer or stand-up mixer with paddle attachment, cream butter, sugar, almond extract and food coloring until smooth. About 5 minutes.
STEP 2
Stir in flour. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and chill for 15-30 minutes.
STEP 3
Shape chilled dough into fruits and vegetables (2-3 bite sized shape), decorate as desired, and place on an ungreased sheet pan. Re-chill the entire sheet of cookies for 30 minutes.
STEP 4
Preheat oven to 300°F.
STEP 5
Bake cookies for 30 minutes. Cool before handling.
