Spaghetti and meatballs is a classic dish everyone loves. These meatballs are deliciously moist and flavorful with a mixture of beef and pork. Gather around the table and enjoy!

Preparation
STEP 1

Heat a large, heavy-bottomed soup pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Coat bottom of pan with oil. Add onions and sauté until translucent.

STEP 2

Spoon half of onions into a mixing bowl to cool for meatballs.

STEP 3

Add diced tomatoes, tomato puree, tomato paste, sugar, basil, oregano, and garlic to soup pot with onions and stir to combine. Rinse tomato cans with about 1/4 cup water each and add to sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Reduce heat to a low simmer.

STEP 4

Preheat oven to 450˚F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Add ground beef, pork, eggs, breadcrumbs, garlic and Parmesan cheese to bowl with cooled onions. Season with salt and pepper. Mix by hand and roll into small balls (about 1 1/2 inches). Place on baking sheet and lightly brush with oil. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until nicely browned.

STEP 5

Add meatballs to sauce. Simmer over low heat for 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Serve over hot spaghetti. Makes a great meatball sandwich too!
