Miso is a Japanese fermented paste made from soy beans. It gives food a wonderful salty, savory, umami flavor. You’ll find miso in white (mildest), yellow or red.
Ingredients
  • 4 (6 ounces) steaks, your favorite cut
  • ⅓ cup white miso
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable or olive oil
  • Chopped green onion or chives for garnish
  • 4 (170.1g) steaks, your favorite cut
  • 78.86ml white miso
  • 12.78g sesame oil
  • 25.56g soy sauce
  • 25.56g minced fresh ginger
  • 8.52g honey
  • 25.56g vegetable or olive oil
  • Chopped green onion or chives for garnish

Preparation
STEP 1

Whisk together the miso, sesame oil, soy, ginger, honey and oil.

STEP 2

Poke holes in the steaks with a fork to tenderize and help the marinade soak in. Place the steak in the marinade and refrigerate for 30 minutes or up to 4 hours.

STEP 3

Remove steak from the marinade. The marinade is thick and will coat the steak.

STEP 4

Grill, broil or pan-fry steak about 5-10 minutes per side, depending on thickness. Cook until internal temperature reaches 125˚-135˚ for medium rare to medium.

STEP 5

Garnish with green onions or chives. Serve with rice or mashed potatoes seasoned with wasabi.
