These darling bite sized lamb lollipops are a delicious and fun appetizer, but can also be served as a whole meal paired with hummus or baba ghanoush, pita bread, and simple Mediterranean salad.
Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground lamb
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ⅓ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Thin breadsticks (or short skewers or bamboo picks)
  • Tzatziki Sauce
  • 453.59g ground lamb
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 118.29ml bread crumbs
  • 4.26g ground cumin
  • 2.13g ground allspice
  • 4.26g salt
  • 2.13g black pepper
  • 78.86ml chopped fresh parsley
  • Thin breadsticks (or short skewers or bamboo picks)
  • Tzatziki Sauce

Preparation
STEP 1

Preheat oven to 400˚F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper or foil.

STEP 2

In a bowl mix together lamb, onion, garlic, egg, bread crumbs, spices and parsley until just mixed.

STEP 3

Roll into meatballs and place on prepared pan.

STEP 4

Bake until meatballs are browned and cooked through, about 15 minutes.

STEP 5

Insert each meatball with a 3–4-inch piece of breadstick or skewer to build lollipop. Serve with tzatziki sauce.

Options

Meatballs can also be formed into oblong shapes and grilled.

You can make a combination of meats or substitute the ground lamb with ground beef or ground turkey.
