An Asian-inspired marinade makes this grilled flank steak an easy meal. Serve with white rice and a simple vegetable like Bok choy or in our own Vietnamese Noodle Salad (Bun Salad).
Ingredients
  • 2 pounds flank steak
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup mirin
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons minced ginger
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red chile
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Juice and zest of 1 lime
  • 2 green onions sliced thinly on the bias
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 907.18g flank steak
  • 118.29ml soy sauce
  • 59.15ml mirin
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 25.56g minced ginger
  • 4.26g crushed red chile
  • 12.78g sesame oil
  • Juice and zest of 1 lime
  • 2 green onions sliced thinly on the bias
  • 12.78g sesame seeds

Preparation
STEP 1

Combine soy sauce, mirin, garlic, ginger, crushed chile, sesame oil and lime. Pour over steak and marinate for 3-4 hours.

STEP 2

Remove the steak from the marinade and pat dry.

STEP 3

Heat grill to high, brush grill grates with cooking oil then place the steak on the grill. Cook for 3 minutes before rotating 90 degrees then cook an additional 3 minutes. Flip and repeat.

STEP 4

Remove the steak and allow to rest for 4-5 minutes. Slice and garnish with the bias gut green onion and sesame seeds
