Cream cheese and caramelized onions are not just for Seattle dogs anymore! Let’s mash it up with our other PNW favorite, salmon and turn it into a burger!
Preparation
STEP 1
Heat a non-stick pan or grill to medium heat. Coat with oil or pan spray. Cook salmon patties on each side for about 3-4 minutes until caramelized and cooked to 145°F.
STEP 2
Build burgers on toasted buns with a generous spread of chive cream cheese, cooked salmon patty, caramelized onions, pickled or grilled jalapeno (if you enjoy a little heat) and butter lettuce.
Options
To truly caramelize onions, cook 2-4 thinly sliced sweet onions in a few tablespoons of butter over medium heat until softened and deeply browned. This can take 30-45 minutes to reach rich caramelization, but the flavor is out of this world!
