A delicious journey into the world of shellfish!

It’s All About the Bivalves! Join aquaculturist Mark Tagal on April 11 for an engaging session on three species of bivalve shellfish grown right in our own Salish Sea waters. Discover the unique "merroir" of seafood and explore the factors that shape the flavors of your favorite shellfish.

The event will include an oyster-shucking demonstration and tasting, followed by a classic French dish of pan-steamed mussels. The class will conclude with a flavorful Hong Kong-inspired recipe: Manila clams in black bean and Lap Cheong sausage sauce.
