WHO RUN THE WORLD?
March is National Women’s Month, so we’re spotlighting women-owned businesses driven by passion and purpose. When you choose products made by women-owned businesses, you’re choosing to support women's economic empowerment, and gender parity in the world of commerce. You’re choosing to create more vibrant communities, and contributing to a more robust economy overall. We’re proud to uplift small and women-owned businesses, and to bring our neighbors the best of the best.
Doing good while tasting good
Want to make an ethical and sustainable charcuterie board? We’ve got the products for that. Start with fresh salami from Coro by Salumi, made with intentional, all-natural, and ethically sourced ingredients using sustainable environmental practices. Pair it with Cowgirl Creamery’s lush organic cheeses, which are made sustainably in partnership with responsible local farms in Marin and Sonoma Counties. Finish the board with Marieke Gouda, an incredible cheese made on a family farm where anyone can visit and cuddle the resident cows.
Meet Pizza Girl
Caroline D’Amore—aka Pizza Girl—makes three life-changing sauces with organic, no-sugar-added family recipes that have earned her a celebrity following. Which, in a world full of fairly impressive marinaras, is quite an achievement. Pick up a jar of her Vodka Sauce—and pair it with oenologist Concha Vecino’s bold red El Chaparral Navarra Garnacha from Bodegas Nekeas in northern Spain for a total Girls Night In vibe.
Free-from foods, from female makers
Are you dealing with food intolerances or allergies? Many of the women-owned businesses we work with feel your pain. And they make products that are both delicious and digestible, so you can enjoy what you’re eating.
Caulipower provides gluten-free eaters with safe versions of their favorite comfort foods. Founded by an overwhelmed mom looking for nutritious gluten-free options for her two sons with Celiac, Caulipower offers lots of fun frozen products, from pizza crusts to chicken nuggets.
Purely Elizabeth Granola incorporates superfoods, vibrant flavors and textures, and nutritious ancient grains into gluten-free, organic and vegan granolas that are so good, you won’t want to limit them to just breakfast.
For dessert deliciousness, Honey Mama’s oh-so-good chocolate bars are made from whole foods, free from refined sugar, soy, eggs, dairy, gluten, and grains, and come in a myriad of jubilant flavors (see? gluten-free is not synonymous with boring.)
Cheese is easy to love, but it can be difficult to stomach. Miyoko’s has us totally covered in that department, with their rich, cultured vegan cheeses. And they conjure some serious dairy-free magic beyond cheese, too. Butter, cream cheese, artisan cheeses… excuse us while we go make some toast.
