the Spices on Sale

After a mildly disappointing, smaller-sized 2018 crop, this year’s supply of carving pumpkins is huge! At just $4.98 each, you can gather enough gargantuan pumpkins to carve an entire spooky army of Jack-O-Lanterns and deploy them on your porch to ward off would-be tricksters.

Our Produce guru Joe Pulicicchio says an unusually dry and hot summer kept pumpkins modest last year, but the milder temperatures and rains this year really injected some life into the pumpkin crop.

While chopping and dicing my way toward a delicious winter veggie stew last Sunday night, I found myself frustrated as I looked sadly at the little plastic bag where my supply of caraway seeds used to be.
