Sriracha Sausage Soup

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 pound bulk Sriracha sausage
  • 1 medium turnip, diced
  • 1 medium head cabbage, chopped
  • 8 cups water
  • 1/2 cup white miso
  • 4 green onions, chopped


Heat a soup pot to medium high and add 1 tablespoon oil. Add sausage and brown (about 6 minutes) breaking it up as it cooks. Add diced turnip and cook for 4 more minutes. Add cabbage and water bring to a boil.

Reduce to a simmer and cook until cabbage is tender. Reduce heat to low and add white miso. Heat 2 minutes and serve. Garnish with green onions.


Sliced mushrooms, chopped bok choy and/or shredded carrots are great additions to this soup.
