Pork and Tofu Stir-Fry with Pickled Mustard Leaves

  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 4 ounces pickled takana (mustard leaves)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 14 ounces firm tofu
  • 1 cup chopped stir-fry vegetables of your choice
  • 3 tablespoons mirin
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • Shichimi to garnish (Japanese spice mixture)


Brown pork in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain on paper towels and set aside.
Drain tofu and pat dry with paper towels. Cut into 1-inch cubes.
Heat oil in same skillet. Add mustard leaves and garlic and cook for 2 minutes.
Add tofu, vegetables, mirin and soy sauce. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Add pork.
Serve with rice and garnish with shichimi.
