- Fresh mozzarella cheese, 4-6 slices per pizza (use buffalo mozzarella if available)
- Fresh Roma tomatoes, thinly sliced; 4-6 slices per pizza
- Fresh basil leaves, torn; small handful per pizza
- About ¼ cup your favorite pizza sauce per pizza
After making your dough, add sauce and toppings – sauce, tomatoes, cheese and basil.
Apply them sparingly, as true Italian pizza is about the crust, not the toppings.
Place pizza on the grill or in a 500°F oven for 3 to 5 minutes.
Drizzle with a good-quality olive oil before serving.
Sprinkle with shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese if desired.
