- 1 (1-pound) loaf French bread, torn into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup dried cherries
- 6 eggs, lightly beaten
- 3 cups whole milk
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Butter a 9x13-inch baking dish. Add bread, chocolate chips and dried cherries and toss to combine.
In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugars, vanilla and salt. Pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 24 hours.
Bake for 1 hour or until custard is set.
Delicious served warm with whipped cream and cinnamon.
