Brown Sugar Pecan Pie

  • 1 9-inch pie shell
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups roughly chopped pecans
  • 3/4 cup loosely packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup pecan halves for garnish


Pre-bake pie crust according to package or recipe instructions.
When crust just starts to brown, brush lightly with some of the beaten eggs then bake 3 minutes longer.
Remove from oven and set temperature to 350°F. In a large mixing bowl, combine eggs, chopped pecans, brown sugar, melted butter, salt and vanilla. Pour into crust and spread evenly. Arrange pecan halves on top. Bake about 30 minutes, or until set.
Cool completely before serving.
