  • 1 cup sesame seeds
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder


Preheat oven to 375°F. Place sesame seeds on an ungreased baking sheet and toast for 10 minutes, until light brown.
In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, flour, salt, baking powder and toasted sesame seeds.
Drop the dough by 1/2 teaspoonfuls onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake 4-6 minutes, until lightly brown. Let cookies cool slightly before removing to wire racks.
