Basic Ribs (Oven Roasting or Grilling Technique)

  • 2 racks ribs
  • 4 tablespoons rub of your choice, or mixture of salt, pepper and garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup olive oil


Rinse ribs and pat dry with paper towels.
Mix together rub and olive oil to form a paste. Rub over all surfaces of ribs.
Wrap in foil and cook in a preheated 300°F oven for about 2 hours. Meat will be very tender. Unwrap ribs, baste with BBQ sauce and broil until browned and crispy.
Or rub meat and grill outside until smoky and seared, about 15 minutes. Remove from grill, wrap in foil and finish cooking in oven for about 1 1/2 hours or until tender.
